ARTIST STATEMENMENT

In my artistic practice, I explore the boundaries between functional objects and sculptures, investigating the reasons behind the structural composition of objects. As a member of the Chinese Bai ethnic group, I draw on my cultural beliefs and personal experiences to shape my perspective on the world around me. This has led me to create a body of work that uniquely combines industrial and natural elements. By utilizing traditional craft techniques, I can preserve cultural practices while experimenting with objects as symbols of the passing of time. Whether forging steel or carving wood, I strive to capture the dynamic movements inherent in the law of conservation of matter. My intensive labor is driven by my spontaneous emotional response to the environment as a synergistic entirety.
